VISTE aims to empower the spatial thinking of primary and secondary school students with visual impairment (VI). Six partners from four European countries are working together over a course of three years to develop strategies, educational components and an ICT toolkit towards effective spatial thinking of students with VI, facilitating inclusion. The project is co-funded by the European Commission under Erasmus+ Key Action 2: Cooperation for Innovation and Exchange of Good Practices. Project leader: Prof. M. Kavouras, 2016-2019

GEOTHNK brings together organisations with high quality and unique expertise in their field in a European effort to propose a scientifically grounded, technologically sustainable and organisationally disruptive framework to meet the challenge for the development of new learning pathways across traditional education sectors and informal learning situations, making effective use of open educational practices and resources. GI-N2K (Geographic Information: Need to Know) aims to answer the question on how the education and vocational training in the domain of GI Science and Technology can match with the actual job requirements in the job market. GI-N2K builds upon the existing Geographic Information Science and Technology Body of Knowledge (GI S&T BoK) that was developed by the American University Consortium for Geographic Information Science , published in 2006 by the Association of American Geographers . The ‘BoK’ will be updated and brought into line with the new technological developments and the European perspective (e.g. importance of INSPIRE in Europe). geocrowd – “Creating a Geospatial Knowledge World” aims at establishing a fertile research environment by means of a training network that will promote the GeoWeb 2.0 vision and advance the state of the art in collecting, storing, analyzing, processing, reconciling, and making large amounts of semantically rich user-generated geospatial information available on the Web. Funded as an Initial Training Network under FP7 – People Marie Curie Actions by the European Commission. Project partners, 2010-2014.
